Writing the *’ by 12” icon of the Pantocrator for Christ the King Parish in Pueblo, CO.
Pantocrator in Place
Currently, I’m finishing the 2nd of two 8’ square icons. The first is of the Creation by the Pre-existent Word and the Fall. The 2nd is of the results of the salvific Passion and death of the Word made flesh shown in the traditional Anastasis, or Resurrection icon of the Christ descending to the place of the Righteous Dead and pulling Adam and Eve from their tombs. Above them is a Deisis row of Paul’s “Cloud of Witnesses. Surrounding the Holy Family interacting with the parish patron, St. Therese of Liseux, are 6 saints representing the spirituality of the Archdiocese and the ethnic make-up of the parish community. Pictures will soon follow.
